FUTURE CUISINE RESTAURANT IBUKI
—
JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) satellite IBUKI orbits the Earth to observe Global Warming. As a government-funded project, IBUKI needed more public attention to continue its mission.
To remind people of Global Warming, a pop-up restaurant offered dishes Japanese may be eating if global warming continues. Five meals were created based on research on how global warming may affect future food production.
Unusual dishes were totally not expected from a space organization, and lead to 179% awareness increase, 100+ articles nationwide, 5+ million dollars earned media, 50+ million media impressions. The dishes alerted Japan about the satellite’s mission and prompted change of behavior.
